Tomáš leads the Incident Response Group, where his primary goal is to eliminate cybersecurity threats and ensure a secure IT environment for the University. He specializes in monitoring and analyzing the traffic of high-speed computer networks, detecting cyber-security attacks, and advanced cybersecurity solutions integration to effectively resolving cybersecurity incidents.
Tomáš has been involved in cybersecurity since 2006, when he was involved in the Liberouter project, testing security solutions for monitoring and analyzing network traffic in high-speed networks. Subsequently, since 2008, he participated in the project CYBER, which was implemented for the Army of the Czech Republic. In 2009 he co-founded the CSIRT-MU security team. Since 2013, he has been involved in the C4E project, the primary target group of which was the Police of the Czech Republic, and the KYPO project, whose team rewarded with a Price of the Minister of the Interior in 2016. Between 2015 and 2019, in cooperation with the National Cyber and Information Security Agency, he directly participated in the creation and implementation of all national and international runs of Cyber Czech technical exercises. For many years he held the role of Deputy Head of Incident Response Group at CSIRT-MU, which he assumed in early 2018. He is currently involved in two European projects – CONCORDIA and SAPPAN.
