Michal leads the Digital Identity Security Group, which takes care of the access control to services and identity of users at MU. His research areas are identity management, access control, and authentication.
Michal has been involved in the field of authentication, authorization, and identity management for several years. He was at the birth of the development of the Perun ecosystem, which provides user management and access control not only at MU but also for large national and international projects. The solutions he was involved in are part of global recommendations on how to build such systems in large scale. In the area of digital trust, he participated in the design and development of a digital document signing system that ensures the highest level of trust under the eIDAS regulation and is applicable in a distributed environment. He is a member of the Technical Committee of the European EOSC-hub project, where he is responsible for authentication and authorization for the newly built European e-Infrastructure for research communities.
